These bones are rich in calcium (up to 40% of each bone’s weight!) and consist of calcium carbonate, zinc, potassium and iron, alongside many other vital minerals. Cuttlebone has a wide variety of uses as a supplement, beak trimming and enrichment for birds, tortoises and more. Broken up into pieces, they provide a valuable source of calcium and other minerals to isopods. This is vital for growth of their exteriors and healthy sheds.
Because this is a natural product, the sizes range from 3″ – 5″ and will vary in colour and shape. They are fragile and easily broken, but pieces are just as useful as whole cuttlebones.
